동해의 봄바다는 아직 차갑지만, 그 풍경은 이미 여행자들의 마음을 흔들기 시작했다. 강원특별자치도 동해시의 바닷길 ‘한섬 감성바닷길’이 강원관광재단이 선정한 3월 ‘이달의 추천 여행지’로 이름을 올리며, 봄을 맞이하는 여행객들을 위한 특별한 초대장을 내밀고 있다.

The spring sea of Donghae may still carry a chill, but its scenery is already stirring the hearts of travelers. The “Hansum Emotional Coastal Walk” in Donghae, Gangwon State, has been selected as the March “Recommended Destination of the Month” by the Gangwon Tourism Foundation, extending a special invitation to visitors welcoming the new season.

동해시는 이번 선정에 맞춰 3월 한 달 동안 관광객을 대상으로 다양한 할인 프로모션을 운영한다. 봄바다를 바라보며 걷는 도심 속 바닷길의 매력을 더 많은 사람들이 경험할 수 있도록 하기 위한 조치다.

In celebration of this recognition, Donghae City will offer a variety of promotional discounts throughout March. The initiative aims to encourage more visitors to experience the charm of a coastal path where the sea and the city meet in quiet harmony.

대표적인 혜택은 동해시티투어버스 할인이다. 3월 한 달 동안 시티투어버스 이용요금이 50% 할인되며, 관광객들은 한섬 감성바닷길이 위치한 천곡권역을 비롯해 묵호와 무릉계곡 등 주요 관광지를 편리하게 둘러볼 수 있다.

One of the key benefits is a 50 percent discount on the Donghae City Tour Bus during March. The bus circulates through major attractions such as the Cheongok district—home to the Hansum coastal walk—as well as Mukho and the scenic Mureung Valley, making travel easier for visitors unfamiliar with the area.

또한 자연과 문화가 결합된 관광 명소인 무릉별유천지에서는 입장료 50% 할인과 체험시설 이용요금 30% 할인이 제공된다. 방문객들은 절경 속에서 다양한 체험 프로그램을 즐기며 동해 여행의 색다른 매력을 발견할 수 있다.

Visitors will also receive a 50 percent discount on admission to Mureung Byeolyucheonji, along with a 30 percent reduction on experience program fees. The destination blends natural scenery with cultural experiences, offering travelers a unique way to explore Donghae’s landscape.

동해시는 한섬 감성바닷길을 중심으로 주변 관광지를 연결한 여행 코스도 제안하고 있다. 한섬에서 푸른 동해 바다를 바라보며 산책을 즐긴 뒤, 젊은 여행객 사이에서 새로운 핫플레이스로 떠오른 묵호 일대의 감성 카페와 논골담길을 둘러볼 수 있다.

Donghae City is also recommending a travel itinerary connecting nearby attractions around the Hansum coastal path. After enjoying a leisurely seaside walk along the East Sea, visitors can explore the Mukho area, a rising hotspot among younger travelers known for its atmospheric cafés and the nostalgic alleyways of Nongoldam-gil.

여행의 마지막은 동쪽바다 중앙시장에서 지역 먹거리를 맛보거나, 도심 속 자연유산인 천곡황금박쥐동굴을 탐방하는 코스로 이어질 수 있다. 여기에 국내 최초 연필 전시공간으로 주목받는 연필뮤지엄까지 더하면 동해만의 독특한 감성을 담은 여행이 완성된다.

The journey may continue to the Donghae Central Market to sample local delicacies, or descend underground to explore the Cheongok Golden Bat Cave, a rare natural heritage site located within the city. Adding a visit to Korea’s first Pencil Museum completes a travel experience uniquely infused with Donghae’s creative and cultural character.

Alongside the promotional discounts, Donghae plans to strengthen online marketing efforts to capture early spring travel demand. #Lee Jinhwa, head of Donghae City’s Tourism Division, said the city hopes the selection will help promote longer stays by connecting the scenic spring sea of Hansum with experiential programs at Mureung Byeolyucheonji. “Our goal is to ensure that visitors’ journeys naturally extend into the local economy,” Lee added, “and we will continue expanding programs that link tourism with regional businesses.”
