– 2025 Second-Half Gangwon Career Education Council –
On a December day that marked the close of the year,
those who care deeply about career education in Gangwon gathered in one place.
On December 15,
the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education
held the 2025 Second-Half Gangwon Career Education Council
at Sejong Hotel,
to jointly discuss the direction of career education for 2026.
The council was convened under the
Ordinance on the Promotion of Career Education of the Gangwon Office of Education,
serving as a moment to reflect on the present
and prepare for the next step forward.
Nine experts from various sectors—including
the Office of Education, the Provincial Council, local governments, universities,
career experience centers, and parents—
participated as council members,
engaging in in-depth discussions on
the achievements of 2025 and
the key plans for 2026.
During the meeting,
the outcomes of this year’s career education initiatives were reviewed,
along with the pilot program
“Writing Our Hometown,”
which encouraged students to explore their communities
and express their perspectives through writing and media.
Plans were also shared for new flagship initiatives in 2026,
including the K-Culture Media Art Career Exploration Program
and a comprehensive career education results forum.
These initiatives aim to broaden students’ career imagination
through culture, art, and media.
Council members proposed practical and forward-looking measures,
such as expanding career exploration programs in arts and media,
strengthening partnerships with local career experience institutions,
and systematically disseminating best practices from research schools.
Based on these discussions,
the Gangwon Office of Education plans to further refine its 2026 career education policies
and strengthen support systems
so that all students—regardless of region—
can enjoy equal opportunities to explore their futures.
#Kim Seong-rae, Director of Secondary Education, stated,
“The insights shared by our council members will be a powerful driving force
in shaping the next phase of Gangwon’s career education.
We will continue to promote practical, field-based career education
that helps students discover their strengths and possibilities
and design their futures with confidence.”
So that every student in Gangwon
can move at their own pace,
in their own direction,
toward the future they envision.
Career education continues its steady journey forward—
quietly, yet with clear purpose.
