The Kangwon Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education held the 2025 Education & Culture Center (Library) Major Project Performance Sharing Conference on Friday the 5th at the Hongcheon Lifelong Learning Center.
This marks the second annual conference following last year’s event, with more than 90 library staff members in attendance. Six project leads presented outstanding cases, including △selection of exemplary libraries for 2025 △school-linked programs △expansion of digital and literacy education △and community partnership programs.
Notably, this year's conference highlighted the achievement of Cheorwon Education Library, which received the 2025 Library Operation Evaluation Award from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism—demonstrating that even small communities can achieve remarkable outcomes through sustained innovation and collaboration.
Jeong Young-chun, Head of the Educational Support Division, stated, “Education & Culture Centers (libraries) are everyday cultural spaces most accessible to students and serve as lifelong learning hubs for the community. We will proactively respond to the future educational landscape by promoting digital transformation, strengthening reading and humanities programs, and innovatively restructuring library spaces.”
