강원도립대학교, ‘제2회 주문진 도깨비 포럼’ 개최 – 장대익 교수 초청 특강 “창업은 왜 우리의 미래인가?”

강원도립대학교(총장 최종균)가 지역민과 학생을 위한 개방형 지식 플랫폼 ‘주문진 도깨비 포럼’의 두 번째 장을 연다. 오는 12월 4일(목) 오후 3시, 강원도립대학교 이노베이션센터에서 열리는 이번 포럼은 ‘창업’을 주제로, 변화하는 시대가 요구하는 새로운 성장 방식에 대해 깊이 있는 통찰을 제시한다.

초청 강연자로는 스타트업 분야에서 주목받고 있는 장대익 가천대학교 스타트업칼리지 학장이 나선다. KAIST에서 시작해 서울대 대학원에서 과학철학을 연구한 그는, 구글코리아 앱생태계 포럼 의장과 서울대 자유전공학부 교수를 거쳐 창업가·사상가·교육자로 활발히 활동하고 있다.

이번 특강의 핵심은 분명하다.

“창업은 더 이상 소수의 선택이 아니라, 누구나 삶의 전환점마다 다시 꺼내볼 수 있는 성장의 기술”이라는 것.

장 학장은 한 번의 직업으로는 평생을 살아가기 어려운 시대에, 배움–일–전환–은퇴 이후까지 이어지는 생애 전주기 관점에서 창업이 어떻게 개인의 역량을 발견하고, 실패를 배움으로 바꾸며, 스스로 경력을 설계하게 만드는지 이야기한다.

그는 또한 인구유출로 비어가는 지역 현실을 짚어내며 ‘지역 창업’의 진짜 의미를 강조한다.

문제를 가장 가까이 보는 사람들이 문제를 해결할 때, 그 지역에는 머무를 이유가 생기고 돌아올 이유가 만들어진다는 것이다.

특정 기술보다 중요한 것은 ‘문제 발견–해결–지속’이라는 단순한 원리, 그리고 협력의 힘임을 제시한다.

강연은 약 2시간 동안 진행되며, 이후 강연자와 참석자 간의 자연스러운 교류를 위한 다과회가 이어진다.

#최종균 총장은 “주문진 도깨비 포럼을 지역의 열린 지식 거점으로 만들겠다”며 “학생과 지역민이 다가오는 변화를 스스로 준비할 수 있도록 더욱 다양한 주제를 다룰 예정”이라고 밝혔다.

지난 10월 30일 열린 제1회 포럼이 큰 호응을 얻은 만큼, 이번 두 번째 포럼은 지역 창업 생태계와 미래 인재들에게 또 하나의 의미 있는 출발점이 될 전망이다.

“Why Is Entrepreneurship Our Future?”

Gangwon Provincial University (President Choi Jongkyun) is opening the second chapter of its open knowledge-sharing platform, the Jumunjin Goblin Forum. The event will be held on December 4 (Thu) at 3 p.m. at the university’s Innovation Center, inviting both local residents and students into a conversation about the future.

This session features Daekyung Jang, Dean of Startup College at Gachon University—renowned scholar, educator, and startup practitioner. With an academic background starting at KAIST and deepening at Seoul National University’s Program in History and Philosophy of Science, Jang has served as Chair of Google Korea’s App Ecosystem Forum and as professor at SNU’s Liberal Studies.

At the heart of his lecture lies a powerful message:

Entrepreneurship is no longer a risky leap, but a sustainable method for personal growth throughout one’s entire life journey.

In an era where a single career can no longer define an entire lifetime, Jang explains how entrepreneurship enables individuals to connect personal strengths to real-world needs, transform failures into learning, and design their own career paths—across learning, work, transitions, and even post-retirement life.

He also addresses the urgent issue of rural depopulation, highlighting how local entrepreneurship can create reasons to stay, and reasons to return.

Rather than focusing solely on industries or technologies, he emphasizes the essentials:

finding a problem, creating a solution, sustaining the effort, and working through cooperation.

The two-hour lecture will be followed by a networking session designed to encourage open conversation and connection.

President Choi stated, “We aim to establish the Jumunjin Goblin Forum as an open knowledge hub for the region. We will continue to explore themes that help our students and residents respond actively to the changes ahead.”

With the first forum in October having drawn significant interest, the second is expected to further inspire a vibrant, sustainable entrepreneurial mindset within the local community.
