2025년 2학기 강원평창 농촌유학생과 함께하는 교육장 대화마당 및 간담회 개최

평창교육지원청(교육장 김금숙)은 9월 30일(화), 강원특별자치도평창교육지원청 교육장실에서 ‘2025년 2학기 강원평창 농촌유학생(학부모 포함)과 함께하는 교육장과의 대화 마당 및 간담회’를 개최한다.

On September 30 (Tue), Pyeongchang Office of Education (Director Kim Geum-sook) held the “Dialogue and Meeting with Rural Study Abroad Students and Parents” for the 2nd semester of 2025 at the director’s office.

이번 행사는 평창지역으로 농촌 유학을 온 유학생 가정과 함께 평창지역의 이해를 돕고, 교육장과의 대화를 통해 현장 의견을 청취하며, 유학생 가정 간의 소통을 확대해 지역 정착을 지원하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

The event aims to help rural study abroad families better understand Pyeongchang, listen to their voices through dialogue with the education director, and foster communication among families to support a smoother settlement in the region.

올해 평창으로 유학 온 학생들은 2025년 1학기 3명(초 1교, 중 2교)을 시작으로, 2학기에는 7명(초 2교, 중 2교)의 신규 학생이 전입해 두 배 이상 증가했다. 이 중 1학기 유학생 중 1명이 연장 체류하면서, 현재 총 8명의 학생과 5가정이 초등학교 2곳(계촌초, 주진초), 중학교 2곳(계촌중, 미탄중)에 다니고 있다.

In 2025, three students (one elementary, two middle school) joined in the 1st semester, followed by seven new students (two elementary, two middle school) in the 2nd semester—more than doubling the number. Including one student who extended their stay, there are now eight students and five families enrolled in two elementary schools (Gyechon and Jujin) and two middle schools (Gyechon and Mitan).

이러한 성과는 △평창교육지원청의 다양한 프로그램 지원 △작은학교의 특성화된 교육과정 운영 및 홍보 △지역사회와 연계한 교육활동, 생태환경 체험 및 문화예술 프로그램 등 도시에서는 접하기 어려운 기회를 제공한 결과로 평가된다.

This achievement is attributed to diverse programs offered by the Pyeongchang Office of Education, specialized curricula of small schools, active promotion, and unique educational activities in partnership with the local community—including ecological experiences and cultural programs rarely accessible in urban areas.

#김금숙 교육장은 “농촌 유학은 단순히 도시 학생을 농촌으로 보내는 것을 넘어, 지역과 도시가 상생하는 교육생태계를 만들어가는 과정”이라며, “이번 대화 마당을 통해 유학생 가정이 평창 지역에 잘 적응할 수 있도록 하고, 작은학교의 특성화 프로그램을 더욱 지원하겠다. 이를 통해 지역사회와 협력하며 농촌 유학을 활성화해 지역 교육의 지속가능성과 평창의 새로운 활력을 기대한다”고 말했다.

Director Kim stated, “Rural study abroad is not merely about sending urban students to the countryside, but about building an educational ecosystem where rural and urban communities coexist in harmony. Through this dialogue, we will support families in adapting to life in Pyeongchang, strengthen specialized programs of small schools, and work with the community to revitalize rural study abroad. Ultimately, we look forward to enhancing the sustainability of local education and bringing new vitality to Pyeongchang.”

김 교육장은 또한 “농촌 유학이 인구소멸지역인 평창에 새로운 방향을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다”고 덧붙였다.

She added, “We expect rural study abroad to suggest a new direction for Pyeongchang, a region facing population decline.”
