지브리 재즈나잇, 삼척에서 전석 매진 성황

Ghibli Jazz Night Ends in Triumph with a Full House in Samcheok

‘2025 삼척 더나은 교육지구 사업’의 일환으로 삼척시와 삼척시의회, 삼척교육지원청이 주최하고 (재)삼척헤리티지문화재단이 주관한 「지브리 재즈나잇」 콘서트가 922석 전석 매진을 기록하며 성황리에 마무리되었다.

As part of the “2025 Samcheok Better Education District Project,” the Ghibli Jazz Night concert, hosted by Samcheok City, Samcheok City Council, and the Samcheok Office of Education, and organized by the Samcheok Heritage Foundation, concluded successfully with all 922 seats sold out.

지난 9월 19일 삼척문화예술회관 대공연장에서 열린 이번 공연에는 유아와 초등학생을 자녀로 둔 부모부터 청소년과 장년에 이르기까지 다양한 세대의 관객이 객석을 가득 메워 가족 단위, 세대별로 함께 즐기는 무대가 연출됐다.

Held on September 19 at the Samcheok Arts Center Grand Theater, the event drew audiences across generations—from parents with young children to teenagers and adults—creating a family-friendly and multigenerational celebration.

이날 무대에는 재즈 편곡자이자 지휘자·플루겔혼 연주자인 #오재철이 이끄는 국내 최고의 재즈 빅밴드 ‘시네마틱 재즈 오케스트라’가 올랐다. 오종대(드럼), 김성주(베이스), 윤원경(피아노), 신진섭(플루트), 여현우(클라리넷·소프라노 색소폰), 손웅찬(알토 색소폰), 이용석(테너 색소폰), 박동석(제1바이올린), 권혁민(제2바이올린), 장희재(비올라), 한동윤(첼로) 등 연주자들이 풍성한 사운드로 관객의 마음을 사로잡았다.

On stage was the Cinematic Jazz Orchestra, led by arranger, conductor, and flugelhorn player Oh Jae-cheol, recognized as one of Korea’s premier jazz big bands. Musicians including Oh Jong-dae (drums), Kim Sung-joo (bass), Yoon Won-kyung (piano), Shin Jin-seop (flute), Yeo Hyun-woo (clarinet & soprano saxophone), Son Woong-chan (alto saxophone), Lee Yong-seok (tenor saxophone), Park Dong-seok (1st violin), Kwon Hyuk-min (2nd violin), Jang Hee-jae (viola), and Han Dong-yoon (cello) captivated the audience with their rich sound.

또한 ‘이웃집 토토로’, ‘하울의 움직이는 성’, ‘센과 치히로의 행방불명’ 등 스튜디오 지브리의 대표작을 현대적이고 감각적인 편곡으로 선보여 어린 시절의 향수와 새로움을 함께 느낄 수 있는 무대를 만들었다. 연출가 데이브니어와 오재철 지휘자의 품격 있는 해설이 공연의 몰입도를 더했다.

The orchestra reimagined beloved Studio Ghibli classics such as My Neighbor Totoro, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Spirited Away with modern, stylish arrangements that blended nostalgia with novelty. Elegant commentary by director Dave Near and conductor Oh Jae-cheol enhanced the audience’s immersion in the performance.

(재)삼척헤리티지문화재단 심태은 이사장은 “어린 시절의 추억과 감동을 불러일으키는 풍성한 재즈 오케스트라 공연을 통해 남녀노소 모두가 지친 마음을 달래는 힐링의 시간이 되었길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 삼척시민들에게 더 많은 문화 향유 기회를 제공하기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

Shim Tae-eun, Director of the Samcheok Heritage Foundation, remarked, “We hope this rich jazz orchestra performance, which rekindled memories and emotions from childhood, offered healing and comfort to audiences of all ages. We will continue striving to provide more opportunities for Samcheok citizens to enjoy culture and the arts.”

한편 (재)삼척헤리티지문화재단은 2021년 설립 이후 국제평화나눔음악회, 통일리더 심포지엄, 드라마틱 콘서트, 시네토크, 미술전시회 등 세대를 아우르는 문화예술 사업을 통해 지역사회 문화 저변 확대와 국제 교류 활성화에 힘쓰고 있다.

Since its establishment in 2021, the Samcheok Heritage Foundation has been expanding cultural access and promoting international exchange through diverse initiatives such as the International Peace Sharing Concert, the Unification Leaders Symposium, dramatic concerts, cine-talks, and art exhibitions.
