강원도립대–속초시, 라이즈(RISE)사업 협력 강화…지역혁신 본격 시동

Gangwon Provincial University and Sokcho City Strengthen Cooperation on RISE Project… Regional Innovation in Full Swing

강원도립대학교(총장 최종균)와 속초시(시장 이병선)는 17일 속초시청에서 라이즈(RISE) 사업의 성공적 추진을 위한 협력 방안을 논의했다.

Gangwon Provincial University (President Choi Jong-gyun) and Sokcho City (Mayor Lee Byung-seon) held a meeting at Sokcho City Hall on the 17th to discuss cooperation measures for the successful implementation of the RISE project.

이번 협의에서는 지역 특화 인력양성을 위한 평생교육 프로그램 운영과 지역 현안 해결을 위한 ‘G-아바이랩 도시캠퍼스’ 조성 등이 주요 의제로 다뤄졌다.

The discussions focused on key agendas such as operating lifelong education programs for nurturing region-specific talent and establishing the “G-Abai Lab Urban Campus” to address local challenges.

속초시는 문화체육관광부로부터 대한민국 문화도시로 지정된 이후, 지역 고유의 음식문화와 생활문화를 기반으로 한 지속가능 도시전략을 추진하고 있다. 강원도립대학교는 이러한 지역 자원을 교육·연구·산업과 연계하여 혁신모델을 창출하고, 지역사회와 함께 성장하는 협력체계를 강화해 나갈 계획이다.

Since being designated a “Cultural City of Korea” by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Sokcho has been promoting a sustainable urban strategy based on its unique food and lifestyle culture. Gangwon Provincial University plans to link these regional assets with education, research, and industry to create innovative models and strengthen a cooperative system for shared growth with the community.

특히, 대학과 지자체는 인구·지역소멸 문제 해결, 청년 인재 유입, 지역정주 기반 마련 등 실질적인 협력 방안을 집중 논의했다.

In particular, the university and the municipality focused on practical cooperation measures to address population decline and regional extinction, attract young talent, and establish a foundation for local settlement.

강원도립대학교 라이즈사업단 최근표 단장은 “대학과 시민이 능동적으로 참여해 라이즈사업을 성공적으로 추진하겠다”며, “지역사회와 상생하는 평생교육·연구·산업 연계 프로그램을 지속적으로 확산시켜 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Choi Geun-pyo, Head of the RISE Project Team at Gangwon Provincial University, stated, “We will actively engage both the university and local citizens to successfully carry out the RISE project,” adding, “We will continue to expand lifelong education, research, and industry-linked programs that foster mutual growth with the community.”

#이병선 속초시장은 “인구소멸 위기 대응을 위한 ‘콤팩트시티’ 조성을 핵심 전략으로 추진하고 있다”며, “강원도립대학교와의 상생 협력을 강화해 지역 현안 문제를 함께 해결해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다. 이어 그는 “주거·일자리·생활 인프라를 집약하는 콤팩트시티 모델과 지역 여건에 맞는 프로그램을 함께 추진한다면, 시민의 삶의 질을 높이고 청년 유입을 촉진하며 속초가 문화·관광 도시로 재도약하는 데 크게 기여할 것”이라고 강조했다.

Mayor Lee Byung-seon of Sokcho said, “We are promoting the creation of a ‘Compact City’ as a core strategy to address the crisis of population decline,” adding, “We will strengthen cooperative ties with Gangwon Provincial University to tackle local issues together.” He further emphasized, “By advancing the compact city model that integrates housing, jobs, and living infrastructure along with programs suited to regional conditions, we can improve citizens’ quality of life, attract young people, and contribute greatly to Sokcho’s rebirth as a cultural and tourism hub.”

#최종균 강원도립대학교 총장은 “이번 협의는 대학과 지자체가 상호 신뢰를 바탕으로 지역의 미래를 함께 설계하는 중요한 출발점”이라며, “강원도립대학교는 속초시와의 협력을 통해 라이즈(RISE)사업 성과를 극대화하고 지역혁신의 허브로 자리매김하겠다”고 강조했다.

President Choi Jong-gyun of Gangwon Provincial University remarked, “This meeting marks an important starting point where the university and local government design the future of the region based on mutual trust,” stressing, “Through collaboration with Sokcho City, Gangwon Provincial University will maximize the outcomes of the RISE project and establish itself as a hub of regional innovation.”

한편, 강원도립대는 라이즈(RISE)사업을 통해 앞으로 5년간 지역 맞춤형 교육과 현안 해결형 연구로 지역혁신을 선도해 나갈 예정이다.

Meanwhile, over the next five years, Gangwon Provincial University will lead regional innovation through customized education and problem-solving research under the RISE project.
