강릉시, 수질검증위원회 공식 출범

강릉시는 도암댐 비상 방류수의 안전성 확보와 상수원 보호를 위해 「강릉시 수질검증위원회」를 9월 15일(월) 공식 출범하고, 제1차 회의를 개최했다.

Gangneung City officially launched the Gangneung Water Quality Verification Committee on Monday, September 15, to ensure the safety of emergency discharge water from Doam Dam and to protect its water sources. The first committee meeting was held on the same day.

이번 제1차 회의는 15일 오후 3시, 강릉시청 8층 상황실에서 열렸다.

The inaugural meeting took place at 3:00 p.m. in the situation room on the 8th floor of Gangneung City Hall.

위원회는 총 11명의 민·관·학계 전문가로 구성되었으며, △도암댐 및 도수관로 △비상 방류수의 수질 측정·검토를 통해 상수원수로 사용 가능 여부 검증 △가뭄 해소 시 방류 중단 시기 협의 등의 역할을 수행하게 된다.

The committee, comprised of 11 experts from the public, private, and academic sectors, will carry out responsibilities such as △measuring and reviewing the water quality of Doam Dam, its water conveyance facilities, and emergency discharge, △verifying suitability for use as drinking water, and △deliberating on the timing of discharge suspension once drought conditions are resolved.

김홍규 강릉시장은 “이번 위원회 출범으로 도암댐 비상 방류수에 대한 객관적 검증체계를 마련했다”며, “시민이 안심하고 상수원을 사용할 수 있도록 철저한 수질검증을 진행하고, 모든 과정을 투명하게 공개해 신뢰받는 행정을 실현하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Mayor Kim Hong-kyu remarked, “With the launch of this committee, we have established an objective verification system for Doam Dam’s emergency discharge water. We will conduct thorough water quality verification so that citizens can use the water supply with confidence, and we will disclose the entire process transparently to ensure trustworthy governance.”
