Geundeok Middle School’s canoe team in Samcheok claimed overall victory by sweeping all middle school events at the 43rd National Canoe Championships, held from September 3–6 at Taehwa River in Ulsan. The team earned six gold medals and one silver, showcasing unmatched dominance.

In particular, third-year student Kwon Yul was the only middle school athlete selected as a reserve member of the national sprint canoe team, proving his potential as a future national representative. He pledged, “I will train harder to become a full national team member and represent Korea.”

Principal Han Yeon-hee stated, “Though we are a small school, the students’ dedication and the community’s support have led to this remarkable achievement. We will continue fostering outstanding athletes in the future.”
