강원학사,미래에 도전하는 강원 꿈의 열기(熱氣) 가득

김진태 강원특별자치도지사는 9월 5일(금) 서울 관악구 강원학사에서 수도권에서 공부하는 강원도 출신 대학생들과 함께 오찬 간담회를 가졌다.

On September 5 (Fri.), Governor Kim Jin-tae of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province held a luncheon meeting with Gangwon-born university students studying in the Seoul metropolitan area at Gangwon Haksa in Gwanak District, Seoul.

이번 간담회에는 김 지사를 비롯해 강원인재개발원장, 대학생 10여 명, 그리고 강원학사 졸업생 모임인 숙우회원 등이 함께 참석했다.

The meeting was attended by Governor Kim, the head of the Gangwon Talent Development Institute, around ten university students, and members of “Sukuhoe,” the alumni association of Gangwon Haksa.

강원학사는 강원도 출신 대학생들의 주거 안정을 지원하기 위해 운영되는 수도권 기숙사로, 관악학사(정원 268명)와 도봉학사(정원 204명) 두 곳이 있다.

Gangwon Haksa operates dormitories in the Seoul area to support stable housing for students from Gangwon Province, with two facilities: Gwanak Haksa (capacity 268) and Dobong Haksa (capacity 204).

입사 자격은 본인 또는 친권자의 주소지가 강원특별자치도에 있고, 도내 고등학교 졸업자 또는 3년 이상 거주자에게 주어진다.

Eligibility is granted to those whose own or their guardian’s address is in Gangwon Province, and who either graduated from a local high school or have resided there for at least three years.

학사에서는 저렴한 비용의 숙소 제공뿐 아니라 24시간 독서실 개방, 시험기간 간식 지원, 진로 특강, 봉사활동 등 다양한 공동체 활동 기회를 마련하고 있다.

In addition to affordable housing, Gangwon Haksa offers a 24-hour study hall, snacks during exam periods, career lectures, volunteer activities, and various opportunities for community engagement.

간담회에서 한 대학생은 “처음에 서울로 대학을 올 때 집값이 가장 걱정이었는데, 강원학사 덕분에 안심할 수 있었다”며, “방학 때 집에 내려가도 다시 빨리 올라오고 싶을 만큼 학사 생활에 만족하고 있다”고 말했다.

One student shared, “When I first came to Seoul for university, housing costs were my biggest concern, but thanks to Gangwon Haksa, I felt relieved. I even look forward to returning here after breaks, which shows how satisfied I am with dorm life.”

이에 김 지사는 “이곳에서 만난 룸메이트와 친구들이 앞으로 사회에 나가서도 소중한 인맥이 될 것”이라며, “도에서도 국비를 확보할 때 강원 출신 인사들을 가장 먼저 살펴본다. 언젠가 여러분에게도 도움을 청할 날이 올지 모른다”고 격려했다.

In response, Governor Kim said, “The roommates and friends you meet here will become valuable connections even after entering society. When the province seeks national funding, we always check first if there are Gangwon-born officials in the relevant ministries. One day, we may also seek your help.”

이어 그는 “여러분이 하고 싶은 일, 도전해 보고 싶은 일을 주저하지 말고 과감히 도전하라”며, “여러분의 도전과 성장이 곧 강원특별자치도의 발전으로 이어진다”고 당부했다.

He further encouraged, “Do not hesitate to pursue what you want to do or to take on new challenges. Your challenges and growth will directly contribute to the development of Gangwon Province.”

한편, 1975년 설립된 강원학사는 전국 최초의 향토 학사로서 50년간 6,000여 명의 졸업생을 배출했으며, 오는 9월 20일 오후 3시 개관 50주년 기념식을 개최할 예정이다. (강원학사(관악) 미래관).

Meanwhile, established in 1975 as the nation’s first regional dormitory, Gangwon Haksa has produced over 6,000 graduates in the past 50 years. On September 20 at 3 p.m., it will hold a 50th anniversary ceremony at the Gwanak Haksa Future Hall.
