강원특별자치도 보건환경연구원(원장 신인철)은 지난 7월 14일부터 25일까지 2주간, 강원대학교 이공계 대학생 20명을 대상으로 실습 중심의 현장학습 교육을 운영해 폭넓은 진로 탐색 기회를 제공했다.

The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Institute of Health and Environment (Director Shin In-chul) successfully conducted a two-week on-site training program from July 14 to 25, offering 20 science and engineering students from Kangwon National University a valuable opportunity for broad career exploration.

현장 실무 능력 향상 및 직무 체험 확대

Enhancing Practical Skills and Expanding Job Experience

이번 교육은 이론 중심의 대학 교육에서 벗어나, 현장 실무 능력 향상과 직무 체험 기회를 확대하고자 기획되었으며, 학생들이 각 전공에 맞는 실험 실습과 직무 이해를 병행할 수 있도록 구성됐다.

The program was designed to move beyond theory-based university education, focusing on improving practical skills and expanding job experience. It allowed students to simultaneously engage in experiments aligned with their majors and gain an understanding of related job functions.

보건·환경 분야별 전문 실습 진행

Specialized Training in Health and Environmental Fields

교육은 보건과 환경 분야로 나누어 운영되었으며, ▲보건 분야에서는 감염병, 식·의약품 실습, ▲환경 분야에서는 수질, 대기 관련 실습 등으로 세분화해 각 분야별 전문 실습이 진행되었다. 이를 통해 학생들은 자신의 전공과 연계된 실무 능력을 체계적으로 익힐 수 있었다.

The training was divided into health and environmental sectors. In the health sector, students conducted practical training on infectious diseases and food and pharmaceuticals, while in the environmental sector, they engaged in water quality and air-related experiments. This allowed students to systematically acquire practical skills directly linked to their majors.

멘토-멘티 매칭 통한 맞춤형 현장학습

Customized On-site Training through Mentor-Mentee Matching

특히, 참여 학생과 소속 연구원 간 1:1 또는 소그룹 형태의 멘토-멘티 매칭을 운영하여, 보다 밀도 높은 맞춤형 현장학습이 이뤄졌다. 멘토로 참여한 연구원들은 실제 분석 장비 사용법, 데이터 처리 방식, 연구 보고서 작성법 등 실무 노하우를 직접 전달하며 진로 상담도 함께 제공했다.

Notably, the program incorporated one-on-one or small-group mentor-mentee matching between participating students and institute researchers, resulting in highly personalized on-site learning. Mentors provided hands-on guidance on using analytical instruments, processing data, and writing research reports, while also offering career counseling.

신인철 강원특별자치도보건환경연구원장은 “이번 교육은 도내에서 처음으로 추진된 연구기관-대학 간 이공계 관련 대학생 대상 실무 교육이라는 점에서 의미가 깊다”며, “앞으로도 보다 전문적이고 체계적인 교육 프로그램이 지속될 수 있도록 대학과의 협력을 강화해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Director Shin In-chul stated, “This program is particularly meaningful as it is the first practical training initiative for science and engineering students jointly conducted by a research institute and a university in the province. We will continue to strengthen cooperation with universities to ensure the ongoing development of more specialized and systematic training programs.”
