제12회 춘천영화제가 오는 6월 26일부터 29일까지 춘천예술촌과 남춘천 메가박스에서 열린다.

올해 슬로건 ‘영화의 봄’ 아래 열리는 이번 영화제는 영상산업 생태계를 가꾸고 있는 춘천의 현재를 비추는 동시에 그 미래를 여는 자리가 될 것으로 기대된다.

This year's slogan, "Spring of Cinema," reflects Chuncheon's current efforts in nurturing its film industry while also opening doors to its future.

관객과의 소통을 바탕으로 지역성과 대중성을 겸비한 영화문화축제로 자리매김하며, 춘천이 ‘영화도시’로 나아가는 이정표가 될 것으로 주목받고 있다.

The festival aims to become a film culture event that balances local identity and public appeal through communication with audiences, serving as a milestone for Chuncheon's journey to becoming a film city.

이번 영화제는 ‘정체성 강화’와 ‘대중성 확보’를 핵심 방향으로 독립영화와 상업영화를 폭넓게 아우른다.

With a focus on "strengthening identity" and "securing popularity," the festival embraces both independent and commercial films.

출품작 수는 전년 대비 14% 증가한 1,324편으로 이 중 49편이 선정돼 3일간 상영된다.

Submissions rose by 14% from last year to 1,324 entries, with 49 films selected for the 3-day screening.

한국단편경쟁 부문에는 1,236편이 응모해 최종 14편이 본선에 진출했다.

In the Korean Short Film Competition, 1,236 works were submitted, and 14 have advanced to the finals.

상영작은 27일부터 29일까지 메가박스 남춘천점에서 만날 수 있다.

Screenings will take place from June 27 to 29 at Megabox Namchuncheon.

1매당 7,000원의 유료 또는 무료 티켓으로 관람이 가능하며, 일부 작품 상영 후에는 감독과 관객이 직접 소통하는 대화의 시간도 마련된다.

Tickets, priced at 7,000 KRW or free for some events, will allow audiences to enjoy the films, with post-screening Q&A sessions available for select films.

개막식은 26일 오후 7시 춘천예술촌에서 개최된다.

The opening ceremony will be held at 7 PM on June 26 at Chuncheon Art Village.

개막작은 영화 ‘미션’으로, 박기복 춘천영화제 이사장의 개막 선언과 축사, 심사위원 소개, 개막작 하이라이트 영상 상영 등이 진행될 예정이다.

The opening film will be The Mission, accompanied by opening remarks by Chairman Park Ki-bok, welcome speeches, judge introductions, and highlights from the film.

영화제 기간 중 28~29일 춘천예술촌에서는 다채로운 버스킹 공연과 체험 이벤트가 진행돼 누구나 자유롭게 축제를 즐길 수 있다.

From June 28 to 29, a variety of busking performances and interactive experiences at Chuncheon Art Village will make the festival open and enjoyable for all.

올해 영화제는 ‘변호인’의 양우석 감독을 조명하는 클로즈업 섹션이 마련되며,

This year's festival features a special "Close-Up" section on director Yang Woo-seok of The Attorney.

넷플릭스 드라마 ‘폭싹 속았수다’에서 제니 엄마 역할로 주목받은 배우 김금순, 장건재 감독, 김영진 영화평론가가 심사위원으로 참여해 기대를 모은다.

Actress Kim Geum-soon (from Netflix’s Aema), director Jang Geon-jae, and critic Kim Young-jin will serve as judges, drawing high anticipation.

또한 영화제와 연계해 오는 27일에는 영상산업 생태계 조성을 위한 ‘2025 영화도시 춘천 발전포럼’도 개최된다.

In conjunction with the festival, the "2025 Chuncheon Film City Development Forum" will be held on June 27 to discuss the future of the local film industry.

시 관계자는 “춘천영화제가 도심 속에서 시민들이 문화를 향유하는 열린 공간이자, 지역 영상문화산업이 성장하는 계기로 자리매김하길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

A city official stated, "We hope the Chuncheon Film Festival becomes both an open cultural space for citizens and a catalyst for the growth of the regional video content industry."
