2026 강릉 ITS 세계총회 향해 첫발…조직위 개소식 개최

  ITS 세계총회 조직위 개소식 첫 출발을 알리는 김홍규 시장과 관계자

미래 교통 기술의 장이 될 2026 강릉 ITS 세계총회의 성공 개최를 위한 첫 걸음이 시작됐다.

The journey toward the successful hosting of the 2026 Gangneung ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) World Congress has officially begun.

6월 18일(수) 오후 2시, 경기도 안양시 시민대로에 위치한 대륭 15차 빌딩 내 조직위원회 사무실에서 조직위원회 개소식이 거행됐다.

On Wednesday, June 18 at 2 p.m., the Organizing Committee’s office opened with a formal ceremony held at Daeryung 15th Building on Simin-daero, Anyang, Gyeonggi Province.

이번 개소식에는 국토교통부 도로국장과 디지털도로팀장, 강릉시장, 강원특별자치도 미래교통팀장, 한국도로공사 교통본부장, ITS Korea 협회장, 그리고 ITS 국제위원회(IPC) 의장 등 주요 관계자들이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.

Key figures attended the event, including the Director General of Road Policy and the Digital Road Team Leader from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), the Mayor of Gangneung, the Future Transportation Team Leader of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, the Head of the Transportation Division of Korea Expressway Corporation, the President of ITS Korea, and the Chair of the ITS World Congress International Program Committee (IPC).

행사에서는 조직위 개소를 기념하는 테이프 커팅식과 함께, 강릉 세계총회 유치 이후 추진 경과 보고와 향후 추진계획, 그리고 조직위원회 구성 현황이 발표되었다.

The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the official opening, followed by a briefing on the progress since Gangneung secured the congress, future plans, and the current composition of the organizing committee.

조직위원회는 다음과 같은 체계로 운영될 예정이다:

총회장: 국토교통부 장관, 강릉시장 

Chairpersons of the Congress: Minister of MOLIT and Mayor of Gangneung

조직위원장: 한국도로공사 사장

Organizing Committee Chair: CEO of Korea Expressway Corporation

대외협력위원장: 현대자동차 임원

External Cooperation Chair: Executive from Hyundai Motor Company

기업지원단장: ITS Korea 회장

Corporate Support Director: President of ITS Korea

조직위원: 최대 70인 이내로 구성, 2025년 8월까지 위촉 예정

Organizing Members: Up to 70 members to be appointed by August 2025

사무국: 사무국장 및 5개 팀으로 구성되어 실무 전반을 총괄

Secretariat: Led by a Secretary-General with 5 sub-teams handling all operational matters

2026년 세계 ITS 총회는 대한민국 최초로 지방도시에서 열리는 국제 교통 기술 대회로, 강릉시의 글로벌 도약을 위한 중요한 이정표가 될 전망이다.

The 2026 World Congress marks the first time such a major ITS event will be held in a regional city in Korea, and is expected to serve as a key milestone in elevating Gangneung’s global standing.
