Wonju City Successfully Holds Opening Ceremony for Saenggakjaram Children's Library

원주시는 지난 14일 생각자람어린이도서관을 정식 개관하고 기념행사를 개최했다.

Wonju City officially opened the Saenggakjaram Children's Library on the 14th and held a commemorative event.

이날 개관식은 원강수 원주시장을 비롯해 도·시의원과 지역 주민들이 참여한 가운데 성황리에 열렸다.

The opening ceremony was held successfully with the participation of Wonju Mayor Kang-Soo Won, city and provincial council members, and local residents.

동화구연/원강수 시장/어린이

식전행사인 ‘원주시 자원봉사 청소년 합창단 공연’과 ‘어린이와 시장님이 함께 읽는 동화구연’으로 어린이 눈높이에 맞는 공연을 진행했으며, 이후 축사, 경과보고, 어린이사서단의 편지낭독에 이어 생각자람의 첫 시작을 알리는 ‘피켓 퍼포먼스’와 ‘희망 비행기 날리기’ 행사, 시설 관람을 끝으로 마무리됐다.

Pre-ceremony events included a performance by the Wonju Youth Volunteer Choir and a storytelling session titled “Reading with the Mayor and Children”—all designed to suit the children’s level. This was followed by congratulatory speeches, a progress report, a letter reading by the Junior Librarians, and events such as a placard performance, Hope Plane Launch, and a tour of the facilities, bringing the ceremony to a close.

또한 도서관 자료실에서 풍선아트, 쉐이커 키링 만들기 등의 체험부스와 포토존, 원화 전시, 소원트리, 동화 작가 강연, 마술 공연 등의 다채로운 축하행사를 운영해 시민들의 높은 호응을 이끌어 축하 분위기를 고조시켰다.

In the library's reading room, various celebratory activities were offered—including balloon art, shaker keyring making booths, photo zones, original illustration exhibits, a wish tree, storybook author lectures, and a magic show—drawing enthusiastic participation from citizens and elevating the festive mood.

생각자람어린이도서관은 무실동 중앙공원 2구역 내에 연면적 2,558㎡, 지하1층, 지상2층 규모로 조성한 어린이 특화 문화 공간이다.

The Saenggakjaram Children's Library is a children-focused cultural space located in Central Park Zone 2 of Musil-dong, with a total floor area of 2,558㎡, consisting of one underground level and two above-ground floors.

장서 17,879권을 소장하고 있으며, 지난달 24일 임시 운영을 시작해 시민들을 만나고 있다.

It currently houses a collection of 17,879 books and has been in temporary operation since May 24th, allowing early access for the public.

원강수 원주시장은 “원주시 최초의 공공 어린이도서관인만큼 특색 있는 공간과 프로그램을 통해 지역 대표 문화 공간으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 전했다.

Mayor Kang-Soo Won stated, “As the first public children's library in Wonju, we will do our utmost to make this a flagship cultural space for the region through its unique facilities and programs.”
