Itinerary: Kim You-jeong Rail Bike experience followed by a visit to Nami Island, aiming to create an image of Chuncheon as a desirable place to live

Chuncheon City (Mayor: Yuk Dong-han) is providing international students residing in Chuncheon with an opportunity to experience the city's culture and natural beauty.

Through this initiative, the city aims to encourage international students to consider staying in Chuncheon after graduation, finding employment, and growing into key talents within the local community.

According to Chuncheon City, the 2025 first-half International Student City Tour will take place from April 4 to 17. The program is designed to help international students develop an affection for Chuncheon and envision a future life and career in the city.

The city tour will accommodate 200 participants, targeting international students currently enrolled at local universities. Before the tour, Chuncheon City collected applications through universities and finalized the list of participants.

The itinerary includes visits to Kim You-jeong Rail Bike and Nami Island, two of Chuncheon’s most famous attractions, where students will engage in experiential activities and sightseeing within the city's natural and cultural landscapes.

Through this program, Chuncheon City hopes that international students will discover the city’s diverse charms and build a deeper connection with the local community.

A city representative stated, "We hope this city tour will naturally convey the warm atmosphere and livability of Chuncheon to international students. Moving forward, we will continue fostering communication and exchange with international students to establish a foundation where global talents can settle and thrive in Chuncheon."

Meanwhile, considering the growing foreign population and the importance of international cooperation, Chuncheon City has established policies for foreign residents and international partnerships. In line with this, the city recently reorganized its administration to create an International Cooperation Office and plans to implement various initiatives, including support measures for international student settlement, strengthening global cooperation, and developing overseas market opportunities.

“춘천의 아름다움을 소개합니다”

춘천시(시장: 육동한)가 춘천에 머무르고 있는 외국인 유학생에게 춘천의 문화와 자연을 경험할 기회를 제공한다.

이를 통해 춘천시는 외국인 유학생이 졸업 후에도 춘천에서 살고, 취업은 물론 지역에 핵심 인재로 성장할 수 있도록 돕는다는 계획이다.

춘천시에 따르면 2025년 상반기 외국인 유학생 시티투어가 4월 4일부터 17일까지 펼쳐진다.

외국인 유학생들이 춘천에 대한 애정을 갖고, 향후 춘천에서의 생활과 진로까지도 긍정적으로 상상해 볼 수 있도록 돕는 취지의 프로그램이다.

상반기 외국인 유학생 시티투어 규모는 200명으로, 대상은 지역 내 대학 등록 외국인 유학생이다.

시티투어에 앞서 춘천시는 대학별로 신청을 받고 명단을 확정했다.

방문지는 춘천의 대표 관광 명소인 김유정 레일바이크와 남이섬으로, 지역의 자연과 문화 속에서 체험활동과 견학이 이뤄질 예정이다.

프로그램을 통해 춘천시는 외국인 유학생들이 춘천의 다채로운 매력을 발견하고, 지역사회에 더 깊이 스며들 수 있는 계기가 되기를 기대하고 있다.

춘천시 관계자는 “이번 시티투어가 유학생들에게 춘천의 따뜻한 분위기와 생활환경을 자연스럽게 전달하는 계기가 되길 바란다”라며, “앞으로도 외국인 유학생과 꾸준한 소통과 교류를 통해 세계 인재들이 춘천에 머무르며 살아갈 수 있는 기반을 조성해 나가겠다”라고 밝혔다.

한편 춘천시는 증가하는 외국인 인구와 국제협력의 중요성을 고려한 국제협력 및 외국인 정책을 수립했다.

이에 발맞춰 춘천시는 조직개편을 통해 국제협력관을 새롭게 만들었고, 외국인 유학생 정착 지원방안, 국제협력 강화, 해외 시장 판로 개척 등 다양한 사업을 진행할 예정이다.
