Gangwon Tourism Accommodation Festival & Tourism Challenge Promotion to Attract Visitors
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) has designated Chuncheon and Wonju as the recommended travel destinations for March, and Samcheok and Yangyang for April, as part of the "2025-2026 Gangwon Visit Years" initiative.
For March, the province has selected "Uiam Lake (Suspension Bridge)" in Chuncheon and "Sogeumsan Grand Valley" in Wonju as must-visit destinations.
Uiam Lake in Chuncheon is an artificial lake created in 1967 following the construction of the Uiam Dam for hydroelectric power.
It is well known for its scenic walking trails around the lake.A major highlight is the "Sairo 248" suspension bridge, which opened in December 2023. Measuring 12 meters in height and 248 meters in length, it offers breathtaking views of Gongjicheon Stream, Uiam Lake, Legoland, and Chuncheon Bridge, making it a rising attraction.
Sogeumsan Grand Valley in Wonju has been recognized as one of the "2025-2026 Korea’s Top 100 Tourist Attractions" by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization.With the launch of a new cable car on February 25, access to the site has become even more convenient, making it a must-visit spot for people of all ages.
Starting in March, the province will actively promote tourism through:
"Gangwon Tourism Accommodation Festival", which offers accommodation discount vouchers for travelers visiting the featured destinations.
"Gangwon Tourism Challenge Promotion", where visitors can participate in tourism challenges to win local gift certificates based on their success.
Kim Seong-rim, Director of Gangwon Province’s Tourism Bureau, stated, “We are committed to attracting more visitors to Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province through the Accommodation Festival and Tourism Challenge Promotion.”

강원관광 숙박대전, 강원 관광 챌린지 프로모션 등 관광객 유치 본격화
강원특별자치도(도지사 김진태, 이하 ‘도’)는 「2025-2026 강원 방문의 해」를 맞아 3월 추천 여행지로 춘천과 원주, 4월 추천 여행지로 삼척과 양양을 추천하였다.
먼저, 도에서는 3월의 추천 여행지로 ‘춘천 의암호(출렁다리)’와 ‘원주 소금산 그랜드밸리’를 선정했다.
‘춘천 의암호’는 1967년 수력 발전을 위한 의암댐의 건설로 인해 생성된 인공 호수로 호수 주변의 아름다운 둘레길로 유명하다.
특히, 지난해 12월 개통한 ‘사이로 248’ 출렁다리(높이 12m, 길이 248m)는 상류로는 공지천, 하류로는 의암호·레고랜드·춘천대교까지 조망할 수 있어 새로운 명소로 떠오르고 있다.
‘원주 소금산 그랜드밸리’는 문화체육관광부와 한국관광공사가 선정한 ‘2025~2026 한국관광 100선’에 이름을 올린 원주의 떠오르는 핫플레이스이다.
특히, 지난 2월 25일 케이블카 개통으로 보다 편리한 여행이 가능해져, 남녀노소 누구나 쉽게 즐길 수 있는 명소로 자리 잡고 있다.
또한, 4월의 추천 여행지로는 ‘삼척 맹방 유채꽃 축제’와 ‘양양 남대천 벚꽃길’을 선정했다.
‘삼척 맹방 유채꽃 축제’는 삼척시 근덕면 상맹방리에서 매년 4월 개최되며 축제 기간 동안 다양한 체험 프로그램, 지역 먹거리 행사 등 풍성한 즐길 거리가 제공된다.
특히, 노란 유채꽃과 새파란 동해바다의 대비되는 색감은 방문객들의 감탄을 자아내어 잊지 못할 기억을 선사한다.
‘양양 남대천 벚꽃길’은 남대천 제방도로를 따라 3km 이어진 벚꽃길로, 그 주변으로 연어생태공원과 낙산사, 낙산해수욕장 등 가볼 만한 관광지가 가득하다.
특히, 양양 남대천은 ‘양양 10경’ 중 제1경으로 손꼽히며, 핑크빛 벚꽃과 푸른 강물의 조화로운 풍경은 방문객의 입가에 미소를 짓게 한다.
한편, 도와 강원관광재단에서는 사계절 강원 방문을 유도하기 위해 이달의 추천 여행지를 매월 2개소씩 선정하여 홍보하고 있다.
3월부터는 이달의 추천 여행지의 숙소 할인권을 제공하는 ‘강원관광 숙박대전’과 관광 챌린지 미션 시 성공도에 따라 지역상품권 등을 제공하는 ‘강원관광 챌린지 프로모션’을 운영하여 관광객 유치를 본격 추진할 예정이다.
김성림 강원특별자치도 관광국장은 “강원관광 숙박대전과 챌린지 프로모션을 통해 강원특별자치도에 더 많은 분들이 방문하도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
