"We Are 1318, Sincere in 180 Seconds"

The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education (Superintendent Shin Kyung-ho) is set to host the 3rd Gangwon Youth 180-Second Film Festival on Tuesday, December 10, at Megabox Seoksa in Chuncheon, Comfort Hall 4.

This festival is part of an initiative to expand student-led collaborative art activities.

It aims to provide opportunities for young people to cultivate artistic sensitivity, creativity, imagination, and critical thinking by independently planning, expressing, and executing their own film projects.

Additionally, the event seeks to help students recognize the diversity of cultural arts, encouraging them to express their inner emotions through film, a branch of the arts, and to experience emotional growth in the process.

Film submissions were accepted starting in September, and the application process concluded in November.

After a preliminary screening focused on creativity, originality, structure, and completeness, the top 10 films selected for the finals were announced on November 25 (Monday) via official notices and email.

The 10 finalists include

Eye – Anything (Bangsan Middle School, Pure Art)

The Flower Language of April is Midterms (Gangwon Animation High School, Apple Box)

REC (Kimhwa High School, HamBurger Time)

Behind the World (Yangyang High School, Sinabro)

Seon-a (Yookminkwan High School, YBS)

The event on December 10 will be held under the theme, "We Are 1318, Sincere in 180 Seconds." It will include screenings of the 10 selected films, an awards ceremony, and evaluations by judges, including directors Jang Woo-jin, Park Keun-young, and Jung Hyung-seok.

Lee In-beom, head of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Special Education, remarked, “This festival was designed to allow youth to freely explore themes from their own perspectives through film production.

We will continue supporting various cultural and artistic activities so that students can communicate and express themselves through cinematic arts.”

강원특별자치도교육청(교육감 신경호)은 10일(화) 춘천 메가박스 석사점 컴포트 4관에서 ‘제3회 강원청소년 180초 영화제’를 개최한다.

이번 영화제는 학생 주도 협력형 예술활동 지원을 확대하는 사업의 일환으로, 청소년이 영화제를 스스로 기획․표현․실행하는 과정을 통해 예술적 감수성 및 창의력․상상력․사고력을 기르는 기회를 제공하고자 마련되었다.

또한, 학생이 문화예술의 다양성을 인식하여 예술의 한 분야인 영화에서 내면의 감성을 외부로 표현하여 정서적 성장을 경험하도록 지원하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

지난 9월 작품신청서를 받아 11월 작품접수를 완료했으며, 작품의 창의성, 독창성, 구성력, 완성도 등을 중심으로 사전 선정 심사를 마친 후, 지난 11월 25일(월) 본선 진출 우수작 10편을 공문과 메일을 통해 발표했다.

본선 진출 상영작 아홉 작품은 내 친구는 외계인(고한초등학교, 지플레이),반배정(부안초등학교, 백스스쿨),공포의 술래잡기(북원초등학교, 리틀 봉준호),뉴행(NEW行)(춘당초등학교, 꿈을 노래하는 아이들) 방관자(황둔초등학교, HART),눈-무엇이든지(방산중학교, 더 순수),4월의 꽃말은 중간고사(강원애니고등학교, 애플박스), REC(김화고등학교, 햄부기 타임),세상 뒤에서(양양고등학교, 시나브로),선아(육민관고등학교, YBS)로 총 10작품이 영화제에서 영화를 상영할 예정이다.

영화제 당일인 10일(화)에는 ‘180초에 진심인 우린 1318’이라는 부제로 우수작 10편에 대한 상영과 시상식 및 심사위원 장우진 감독, 박근영 감독, 정형석 감독의 심사평을 듣는 시간도 갖는다.

이인범 문화체육특수교육과장은 “이번 영화제는 청소년의 관점에서 자유로운 주제로 영화를 제작할 수 있도록 기획했다”며, “학생들이 영화예술을 통해 소통하고, 앞으로도 다양한 문화예술 활동을 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
