Gangwon FC Celebrates Runner-Up Finish and Farewell Event for Player Yang Min-hyeok

Gangwon FC will hold a commemorative event on Monday, December 2, across Chuncheon, to celebrate its best-ever season and express gratitude to fans and residents of Gangwon Province.

The event will feature the Governor of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, Yang Min-hyeok, the team, and the supporter group Narsha, making it a meaningful occasion.

This season, Gangwon FC achieved its highest-ever ranking as league runner-up, securing its first-ever qualification for the AFC Champions League (ACL). The team also set new records, including, most wins (19), highest points (64), most goals scored (62), and largest attendance in a single match (13,170), solidifying its place in history.

A Festive Parade in Chuncheon

Following a successful parade in Gangneung last month, Gangwon FC will host another celebration in Chuncheon to engage with fans and residents.

The event will include visits to Gangwon FC Youth Academy (U12) and Hupyeong Middle School (U15), where players will encourage young footballers and take commemorative photos.

The highlight of the event will be a farewell ceremony for Yang Min-hyeok at the provincial government plaza.

Yang Min-hyeok, who played a pivotal role in the team’s success, received the K League 1 Young Player of the Year award and was also named in the league's Best XI this season. The farewell event aims to honor his contributions and support him in his next chapter.

Club Chairman Kim Jin-tae’s Message of Gratitude

Kim Jin-tae, chairman of Gangwon FC, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Gangwon FC and the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province worked together as one team to bring joy to residents and fans throughout the season. I hope this celebration in Chuncheon will also serve as a memorable finale for everyone involved.”

At the K League 2024 Awards Ceremony on November 29, head coach Yoon Jong-hwan was named K League 1 Coach of the Year, while Yang Min-hyeok, Lee Sang-heon, and Hwang Moon-gi were selected for the Best XI, highlighting the team’s outstanding achievements.

Through this event, Gangwon FC looks forward to giving back to its fans and residents while setting sights on even greater accomplishments in the future.

춘천 시내에서 펼쳐지는 팬들과의 만남

강원FC는 지난 11월 강릉에서 진행된 퍼레이드에 이어 춘천에서도 팬들과 도민들을 위한 카퍼레이드 행사를 마련했다.

특히 이번 행사에서는 강원FC 유스 아카데미(U12 축구팀)와 후평중학교(U15 축구팀)를 방문해 격려와 기념 촬영을 진행하며 지역 축구 유망주들과 소통하는 시간을 가진다.

이후 도청 광장에서 양민혁 선수의 고별 행사가 이어질 예정이다.

양민혁 선수는 이번 시즌 최고의 활약을 펼치며 K리그1 영플레이어상 수상과 베스트11 선정이라는 영예를 안았다.

이번 고별 행사는 그의 헌신과 열정에 감사하며 새로운 도전을 응원하기 위해 마련됐다.

또한 이상헌, 양민혁, 황문기 선수가 베스트11에 이름을 올리는 기쁨도 더했다.
