“커피 한 잔에 담은 응원” 동해시 학교 밖 청소년, 드림카페 수익금 장학재단 기탁

– A Living Example of Donghae’s Inclusive Youth Policy

동해시 학교 밖 청소년들이 배움의 결실을 지역사회에 환원하며, 연말을 따뜻한 나눔으로 물들였다.

On December 11, out-of-school youth in Donghae City shared the成果 of their learning with the local community, delivering a heartwarming act of giving at year’s end.

동해시학교밖청소년지원센터 소속 학교 밖 청소년들은 바리스타 및 제과제빵 자격증 과정에서 익힌 기술을 바탕으로 드림 일일카페 ‘스타부곡스’를 운영하고, 그 수익금을 (재)동해시민장학재단에 기탁했다.

Youth affiliated with the Donghae Out-of-School Youth Support Center operated a one-day dream café, ‘Starbugoks,’ applying the skills they acquired through barista and baking certification programs. All proceeds were donated to the Donghae Citizens Scholarship Foundation.

이번 활동은 청소년 자기개발 프로그램 ‘행복한 손나눔’과 연계해 추진됐으며, 참여 청소년들은 직접 커피와 빵을 만들어 지역 주민들에게 제공하고 자율 기부 형식으로 모은 수익 전액을 장학기금으로 전달했다.

The initiative was carried out in connection with the self-development program ‘Happy Hands Sharing.’ The youth personally prepared coffee and baked goods for local residents, donating all voluntarily contributed proceeds to the scholarship fund.

참여 청소년들은 “배운 기술로 지역사회에 도움이 되고 싶었다”며, “작은 정성이지만 누군가의 꿈을 응원할 수 있어 뜻깊다”고 입을 모았다.

Participants shared, “We wanted to give back to our community using what we’ve learned. Though it’s a small gesture, supporting someone else’s dream feels truly meaningful.”

(재)동해시민장학재단 #천수정 사무국장은 “청소년들이 자신의 재능과 노력으로 마련한 수익금을 지역사회에 환원했다는 점에서 큰 의미가 있다”며, “학교 밖 청소년에 대한 인식 개선과 함께 이들의 선한 영향력이 더욱 확산되길 기대한다”고 말했다.

Cheon Su-jeong, Secretary-General of the Donghae Citizens Scholarship Foundation, stated, “It is deeply meaningful that these young people donated funds earned through their own skills. We hope this act helps improve perceptions of out-of-school youth and spreads positive influence throughout the community.”

이번 기부는 학교 밖 청소년을 단순한 ‘지원 대상’이 아닌, 지역사회의 주체적 구성원으로 성장시키는 동해시 청소년 정책의 방향성을 보여주는 상징적 사례로 평가된다.

This donation stands as a symbolic example of Donghae City’s youth policy—one that recognizes out-of-school youth not merely as recipients of support, but as active contributors to the local community.
