Samcheok City Accelerates Relocation and Reconstruction of the Public Postnatal Care Center

삼척시는 삼척의료원 신축 이전에 따라 내년 2월 운영이 중단될 예정인 삼척 공공산후조리원의 이전·신축을 신속히 추진하고 있다.

Samcheok City is expediting the relocation and reconstruction of the Samcheok Public Postnatal Care Center, which is scheduled to suspend operations in February next year due to the relocation of Samcheok Medical Center.

삼척시 관계자에 따르면, 삼척 공공산후조리원은 지난 2020년 3월 삼척의료원 이전 협의 당시 이전 대상에서 제외되었으나,

According to a city official, the public postnatal care center was excluded from the relocation plan during the 2020 consultation on the relocation of Samcheok Medical Center.

민선 8기 출범 이후인 2022년 11월, 의료원 이전 부지 활용방안 용역을 통해 산후조리원의 의료원 내 이전 필요성이 확인되면서 강원특별자치도와 관련 협의를 진행해오고 있다.

However, after the launch of the 8th municipal administration in November 2022, a feasibility study on the utilization of the new medical center site confirmed the need to relocate the center within the medical facility, leading to ongoing consultations with the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.

한편, 신축 삼척의료원은 2026년 3월 개원 예정이며, 시는 의료원 준공과 동시에 공공산후조리원 이전 공사가 즉시 착공될 수 있도록 행정절차를 신속히 진행 중이다.

Meanwhile, the new Samcheok Medical Center is scheduled to open in March 2026, and the city is expediting administrative procedures to ensure that construction of the relocated postnatal center can begin immediately upon completion of the new medical center.

시는 이전 절차가 순조롭게 진행될 경우 늦어도 2027년까지 공공산후조리원의 재개원이 가능할 것으로 전망하고 있다.

If the relocation process proceeds without delay, the city expects the reopening of the public postnatal care center by 2027 at the latest.

아울러, 이전 기간 동안 산모들의 불편을 최소화하기 위해 산후조리원 이용료 지원 조례 개정도 서둘러 추진하고 있다.

In addition, to minimize inconvenience during the transition period, the city is moving quickly to revise its subsidy ordinance for postnatal care services.

이는 공공·민간 구분 없이 도내 어느 지역의 산후조리원을 이용하더라도 기존과 동일하게 이용료 지원을 받을 수 있도록 하기 위한 조치이다.

This measure will ensure that mothers can receive the same level of financial support for postnatal care services, regardless of whether they use public or private facilities within the province.

또한 시는 12월 10일 시민 간담회를 열어 출산을 앞둔 산모들에게 이전 절차와 지원 내용을 설명하고, 불편을 최소화하겠다는 방침이다.

The city also plans to hold a public briefing session on December 10 to explain the relocation plan and subsidy support to expectant mothers, aiming to reduce any inconvenience.
