양양~제주 하늘길 다시 열린다… 파라타항공 첫 취항

2년 4개월 동안 멈췄던 양양국제공항 하늘길이 다시 열린다. 파라타항공이 9월 30일 양양~제주 노선을 시작하며 첫 정기편 운항에 나섰다.

The skies over Yangyang International Airport have reopened after two years and four months. On September 30, Parata Airlines launched its regular Yangyang–Jeju route with its first scheduled flight.

파라타항공은 지난 3월 국토교통부에서 변경면허를 받은 뒤 항공기 도입과 운항증명(AOC) 발급 등 절차를 마쳤다. 이번 노선에는 294석 규모의 A330 항공기가 투입된다.

After securing a revised license from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in March, Parata Airlines completed the required procedures including aircraft acquisition and the issuance of its Air Operator Certificate (AOC). A 294-seat A330 aircraft will service the new route.

운항은 당분간 하루 한 차례씩 이뤄지며, 10월 2일부터는 오전·오후 하루 두 차례로 증편된다.

For now, flights will operate once daily, but from October 2, the schedule will expand to two flights a day—one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

윤철민 파라타항공 대표는 “강원도 청정 하늘에서 첫 비행을 시작하게 돼 의미가 크다”며 “무엇보다 안전을 최우선으로 하겠다”고 말했다.

Parata Airlines CEO Yoon Chul-min said, “It is meaningful to begin our first flight from the pristine skies of Gangwon,” adding, “Above all, safety will be our top priority.”

김진태 강원도지사는 “동서고속철도, 크루즈에 이어 하늘길까지 열리며 영동지역 교통이 완성됐다”며 “양양국제공항이 지역 발전의 거점이 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.

Governor Kim Jin-tae stated, “With the addition of air routes to the East–West high-speed railway and cruise services, the Yeongdong region’s transport network is now complete. I hope Yangyang International Airport will become a hub for regional development.”

강원도는 파라타항공이 만석 운항을 유지할 경우 연간 약 9만 명의 승객 유치가 가능할 것으로 보고 있다. 도는 운항장려금 지원과 함께 중국·일본·동남아 노선 확대를 추진할 계획이다.

Gangwon Province expects that if Parata Airlines maintains full capacity, the route could attract around 90,000 passengers annually. The province also plans to provide incentives and work on expanding international routes to China, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
