'진로체험 교육 콘텐츠' 교육발전특구 우수사례로 선정

원주시가 '대학 연계 첨단산업 분야 진로체험 교육사업'이 교육부 교육발전특구 우수사례에 선정돼 교육발전특구 시범지역 성과공유회에서 교육부 장관 표창을 받았다.

Wonju City has been recognized as an excellent case in the "Education Development Special Zone Pilot Area Performance Sharing Conference," receiving a commendation from the Minister of Education for its "University-Linked Career Experience Education Program in Advanced Industries."

At the conference, organized by the Ministry of Education and the Local Era Committee, the city shared its "career experience education content reflecting local characteristics," developed in collaboration with local universities. The program was particularly praised for providing substantial career experience opportunities linked to advanced industries for local talent.

Mayor Won Kang-soo stated, "This recognition is the result of joint efforts by Wonju City, universities, and the Wonju Office of Education to foster local talent and advance education. We will continue to grow as a leading model city in operating the Education Development Special Zone."

교육부, 지방시대위원회가 주관한 '교육발전특구 시범지역 성과공유회'에서 시는 지역 대학과 협력을 통해 개발한 '지역 특성을 반영한 진로체험 교육 콘텐츠'를 공유했고,특히 지역 인재 대상 첨단산업과 연계한 실질적 진로체험 기회를 제공한 점에서 좋은 평가를 받았다.

시는 지난해 10월부터 올 2월까지 1억5,000만원을 투입, 경동대·상지대·한라대 등 지역 대학과 협력해 초·중·고교생을 대상으로 첨단산업 분야 진로체험 프로그램을 운영했다.

이런 프로그램을 통해 총 1,057명의 학생이 AI(생성형 인공지능)과 드론, 자율주행 전기차, 한의대 생활, 첨단장비를 활용 메디컬 분야 진로체험 등 다양한 첨단산업 분야의 진로 탐색 기회를 가졌다.

원강수 시장은 "이번 우수사례 선정은 지역 인재 육성과 교육 발전을 위해 원주시, 대학, 원주교육청이 함께 노력한 결과"라며 "전국에서 손꼽히는 교육발전특구 운영 모범도시로 성장해 나가겠다"고 강조했다.

한편 시는 올해 교육발전특구 시범지역 운영을 위해 특별교부금 30억원 등 총 43억원의 예산을 들여 디지털 혁신 교육 인프라 구축과 미래 신산업 인재 육성 등 교육사업을 전개한다.
